Welcome to the first edition of the weekly Guiseley AFC Community Foundation Newsletter, find out all of the latest news here.
Guiseley Community Foundationhas been selected to participate in the Co-op Local Community Fund! We are one of three causes that Co-op Members can select to support until October 23rd 2021. The more members that select our foundation and shop with the Co-op, the more funding we will receive! You can become a Co-op Member and begin to support us by joining online at coop.co.uk/membership or by downloading the Co-op app.
Membership is only £1, and every time you shop at the Co-op and have your membership scanned, a small percentage of the cost comes to us! We aim to use any funds raised to work with local primary schools to raise awareness of the negative impact of litter and single-use plastics in the local environment and wider community.
his year has seen our partnership with Guiseley Morrisons flourish. We are very thankful for Community Champion Sharron Chamberlain’s support in providing food to assist in our Healthy Holiday Project. We are thankful to Yeadon Morrisons for their help this year also.
Food Bank Collection
For the seventh consecutive year, we are running a food bank initiative. From November 9th until November 21st, you are able to donate to support local individuals, children and families in need in the Aireborough area. We have a collection point in Guiseley Morrisons, and as usual we will be at Nethermoor Park on November 21st between 12:00 and 15:00. Required items include tinned vegetables, soup, pasta and toiletries.
This year, in partnership with Guiseley Morrisons, we have launched our first Christmas Toy Appeal. There is a donation point in store, where new toys for children aged 0-16 years can be donated. Gifts should be new and unwrapped, and will be donated to children in our local communities via Aireborough Children’s Centre and other professionals.
